Barbara
Weltman is a leading authority on tax, law and finance for small
business. She has written over 25 books, of which her perennial
top-sellers include J.K. Lasser's Small Business Taxes and The Complete
Idiot's Guide to Starting a Home-Based Business. She is a contributing
writer for Inc.com, PINK and New York Enterprise Report, and is a
sought-after media commentator who has been featured in The New York
Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Reuters,
Forbes.com, Marketwatch.com, WABC-TV, Fox News, CNNRadio and CNBC. She
hosts her own weekly radio show called Build Your Business.
Weltman publishes her highly popular "Idea of the Day" and
monthly e-newsletter, "Big Ideas for Small Business." These online
publications address the unique needs and interests of the
small-business community and explore market-impact issues such as
health insurance, technology, marketing, energy costs, taxes and
employee retention.
She is an adjunct lecturer at Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y., where she teaches Principles of Entrepreneurship.

Steve
Vernon, FSA, MAAA, has 30 years of experience helping large employers
design and manage their retirement programs. He recently retired as
vice president and consulting actuary with the human resources
consulting firm Watson Wyatt Worldwide and has published two books on
retirement issues.
Vernon has spent 15 years studying human potential and behavior change.
He is president of Rest-of-Life Communications and a member of the
executive faculty and research fellow with the California Institute for
Finance at California Lutheran University, where he conducts research
on behavioral finance. He has delivered more than 50 training sessions
on a variety of technical and personal growth topics.
His latest work is the DVD/booklet combination The Quest: For
Long Life, Health and Prosperity. It contains interviews with experts
in the fields of life planning, health and finance, and interviews
people from all walks in life who are living examples of the advice
from the experts. It reflects the latest thinking in how to best live
the rest of our lives. His other published works include:

He is a graduate of the University of California at Irvine, with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and social science.
